Through analyzing and researching, the floor of an aircraft was determined to manufacture integrally by 7050 Aluminum Alloy and assemble by the method friction stir welding(FSW). Thus, the test about the tensile and bending mechanical properties of FSW joints is carried out. According to analyzing with the test result, drawing a Mechanical Property comparison between FSW joints and the conventional joints such as bolting, riveting and welding, we obtained the mechanical properties data of the new type floor. Based on a comprehensive consideration of the loading capacity of the aircraft and the technological requirements of FSW, the structural design of the floor was fulfilled. The utilization of FSW joints which instead of 80% mechanical joints has obvious effect on weight reduction.
