Effects of coping strategies on sociocultural and psychological adjustment of Western expatriate managers in the PRC

摘要
Western expatriates currently working on the Chinese mainland participated in a mail survey to examine their coping strategies and adjustment to the Chinese work environment. As expected, the results suggest that managers who use problem-focused coping strategies adjust better than those using symptom-focused strategies do. Implications of these findings for Western expatriates assigned to China are discussed.
