摘要
The starting point of the Political Economy of Communication is the overcoming of existing theories, in particular functionalism and structuralism in its timeless and a historical character, emphasizing social processes and the concentration of hegemonic power. Studying the communication business model involves addressing the strategies of capital accumulation, the power alliances that are generated and how through them the ruling class imposes values and beliefs. Latin American studies, with an emphasis on praxis, linking research to social intervention in a strong commitment to struggles, conceive intellectual existence as a form of social transformation.
