摘要
A great obstacle to excavation was a highly confined sand aquifer. Preliminary borings from ground surface revealed the existence of an alternation of a highly cor;fined sand aquifer with a water pressure of 1.4 MPa, gravel and mudstone ahead of the working face. In order to determine the location of the stratum and lower the groundwater level, vertical drainage holes were drilled downward from the tunnel floor. Then, in addition to vertical drilling, horizontal holes were also drilled with the aim of draining the ground ahead of the face. Drainage drilling was incorporated into the tunnel excavation cycle. This paper reports on tunnel construction (1) in the confined sand aquifer section, (2) in the swelling ground section, (3) in the unconsolidated sand strata section, and (4) using groundwater flowing in the tunnel for irrigation.
