摘要：

Based on a comprehensive review of the available data, we examine the mechanisms and timing of the exhumation of the Eocene-Oligocene porphyry copper deposits of southernmost Peru and northern Chile, and consider their implications for mineral exploration. Data are not sufficient to establish a well-founded exhumation model of the porphyry belt.
