Synthesis and properties of chromium containing mesoporous molecular sieves

摘要
Chromium containing MCM-41 [1,2] has been synthesized and small angle XRD and nitrogen physisorption show that the material has an uniform. mesoporous structure. The local environment of chromium ions was then characterized by diffuse reflectance UV-visible spectroscopy (DRUV) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. It was found that the calcined material has chromium (Cr-VI) in a tetrahedral coordination sphere with oxygen. In-situ XANES show that degradation transformed chromium to octahedra and the Cr-VI species became Cr-III after thermal treatment to 500 degrees C in helium. The oxidations of alkylaromatics with tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) in chlorobenzene were also investigated.
