摘要
Hydrothermal treatment of aqueous solution of ascorbic acid has resulted in the formation of soluble and insoluble products. The soluble product (carbon quantum dots) has exhibited pronounced fluorescent properties. The insoluble product consists of densely aggregated 1-2 mu m particles. The increase in the hydrothermal treatment duration has resulted in continuous transformation of carbon quantum dots into the microparticles.
