摘要：
In this review we briefly outline the main progress realyzed recently in the cooling theory of white dwarfs, both for the description of the interior and the atmosphere of these objects. We point out the remaining uncertainties in white dwarf cooling theory. At last we examine the present impact of white dwarf cooling for galactic purposes, age of the Galactic disk and halo dark matter.
