摘要
The influence of applied voltage waveform on partial discharges in cavities embedded in cross-linked polyethylene is investigated in this paper. The voltage waveforms dealt with are (a) 50 Hz sinusoidal, (b) 0.1Hz sinusoidal, (c) oscillating voltage waveforms having different frequencies and decay time constant of 80 ms. The results show that, under sinusoidal waveforms, 0.1Hz generally provides the lowest PDIV values, whereas PDIV increase slightly with frequency. Oscillating voltage waveforms can provide very inaccurate PDIV estimates, with errors up to about 100%.
