A new species of Parareicheia jeannel from eastern Spain (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Scaritinae)

Based on specimens captured in B-horizon calcareous soils the new species Parareicheia lencinai Ortuno and Magrini (type locality: Caserio de Bernia. Xalo. Alicante Province, Spain) is described and its morphological features compared with the most closely related species. The subgenus Parareicheia Jeannel is raised to genus level (new status) to which it is assigned.
