摘要
in this paper, we present a novel method, case-based retrieval, to search the Web resources. This paper illustrates the concept, the principle and implementation of case-based retrieval. Because of the complexity of the real world and the limitation of the cognition ability of the mankind, people would like to use the following queries, 'find the similar web pages', 'find the similar medical records', 'find the similar cases' and so on. In accordance with the thinking pattern of people, which only needs to submit a case as the query entry, the method of case-based retrieval is simple and useful. We think it will improve the performance of the search engine, and test result shows it's really an effective way of information retrieval of Web resources.
