摘要
The concept of 'ecological footprint' is simple and has a broad scope as analytical as well as teaching technique, which not only assesses the sustainability of current human activities, but also is an effective tool for creating social awareness and assisting the decision-making. The calculations were made for the Arad county in Romania, results underlining the economic development of this area, with a higher ecological footprint comparative with the world average, but this is not leading to a sustainable development.
