摘要
The performance of a conventional anode supported micro-tubular SOFC using Gd doped ceria (GDC) as an electrolyte and Ni-GDC cermet as an anode is evaluated at low operating temperatures below 500 degrees C. OCVs of over 0.9 V are obtained at all measured operating temperatures between 294 and 487 degrees C. The power density of the cell is 0.18 W cm(-2) at 0.7V and 487 degrees C operating temperature, and it is confirmed that the cell can be operable at 294 degrees C with an open circuit voltage of 0.95 V. According to impedance spectroscopy, it is shown that fuel cell performance at lower temperature strongly affected by polarization resistance connected with chemisorption of hydrogen or/and oxygen on the catalyst surface of anode and/or cathode.
