Left Ventricular Fibroma Presenting as Syncope and Ventricular Tachycardia

Cardiac fibromas represent the second most common benign cardiac mass seen in the pediatric population, but they are rarely seen in adults. Given their large size and unpredictable location within the heart, patients may present with varying symptomatology, and in many cases, the initial presentation is sudden death. Both echocardiography and magnetic resonance imaging are critical to the early diagnosis and prompt treatment of these potentially dangerous primary tumors. We report a 29-year-old woman presenting with syncope and ventricular tachycardia. She was found to have a 5.0cm inferoapical left ventricular fibroma, which was successfully resected.
