Integrating the user interface in the design of intelligent information systems

摘要
An intelligent information system provides different levels of intelligent support for its intended use, for instance decision support. It is a complex system that is composed of several parts that are usually developed separately. Therefore, users not only encounter problems in getting an explanation of the proposed decision support, but the user interface may look different when accessing the different parts of the system. An integrated design up from the earliest stage of development is expected to overcome these shortcomings. The proposed approach focusses on the interaction during the use of the decision support. Information systems use databases to store and manage data. The implementation in a RDBMS is convenient in its use, but unfortunately this does not make the design easier Fortunately if the knowledge model of the decision support part is also implemented in the same RDBMS, both models share common properties, and are thus suitable for integration.
