Based on the social and economic data of Qingdao, from the point view of the mechanism of the urban fire disaster risk to assess the urban fire disaster risk in Qingdao city. The impact factors of the urban fire disaster risk were determined through comprehensive analysis. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Weighted Comprehensive Analysis (WCA) and GIS technology were used to build the model of fire disaster risk assessment. a result the assessment and zoning map of urban fire disaster risk in Qingdao was obtained. The results show that the urban fire disaster risk from high to low is Pingdu and Jiaozhou, urban district, Jimo, Jiaonan and Laixi. Besides fire disaster risk in different functional areas of urban district is not same, the biggest risk is in industrial zone, next is the residential area, the minimal risk is other functional areas. The results obtained in this study are specifically intended to support urban government agencies of fire disaster management as they make fire disaster resource allocation, high-level planning decisions, and public education efforts, and the urban sustainable development planning.
