摘要
Perinatal HIV transmission may be the result of a combination of factors that cannot be isolated entirely. Among the obstetric factors tors reported to be more strikingly associated with mother-to-infant transmission are preterm delivery, low birth weight, birth order in twin pregnancies, and the duration of hours of membrane rupture. The protective effect of the cesarean section is still controversial. The use of potent antiviral drugs (protease inhibitors) may prove to be more efficient in preventing such transmission than a cesarean birth.
