摘要：

This study aimed to characterize the avifauna of the Mata Seca State Park, situated in the district of Manga, north of Minas Gerais state, Brazil. For this purpose, we jointly used three different methods: captures with mist-nets, totaling 18.360 h/net; 153 lists of Mackinnon; and non-systematic field observations from 2007 to 2012. We recorded 257 species, with 17 endemics from the caatinga and five species typical from deciduous forests. Among them, eight are considered as threatened globally. Our results provide a substantial contribution to the knowledge of the avifauna in the highly fragmented and disturbed seasonally dry tropical dry forests in Brazil, especially those situated along the Sao Francisco river.
