摘要
This paper presents an energy harvesting system for adaptation with thermoelectric generators (TEG). The TEG system is a dc power source based on Seebeck effect, which utilizes the temperature gradient between hot and cold sides of the TEG module. The output voltage is highly dependent on temperature difference. A DC-DC converter is needed to regulate the output power of the TEG and to actively track the maximum power point that can be achieved from the TEG. The power electronic interface of the TEG will be designed using boost converter. A modified maximum power point tracking algorithm (MPPT) is adapted for enhanced generation efficiency at enviroments with heat change dynamics. Indirect detection method of the open circuit voltage and short circuit current are key features for the adapted technique. Design considerations for the power electronic interface and the control algorithm will be covered as well in this manuscript.
