IT Governance and Implementation: A Perspective on the Social-Profit Sector in the Province of East-Flanders (Belgium)

In this paper IT implementation and strategy in the social profit sector of the Province of East-Flanders is researched. The paper will look at organizational differences stemming from dimensions such as having IT staff or not. Organizations having IT staff, implement different types of software and technologies and look more at IT education when hiring. IT strategy that is being pursued by organizations is explored on a sector wide basis. IT governance still has a long way to go in this sector. Finally, barriers for IT implementation are reviewed.
