摘要
3D printing technologies have become widespread in recent years both industrially and in homes. Rapid prototyping technologies have been present in art production for more than a decade and have been increasingly incorporated into the university. In three-dimensional computer modeling, texture mapping, used in conjunction with materials, is used to mimic these surfaces and make more realistic virtually modeled objects. Another of its applications is the creation of sculptural reliefs, starting from displacement mapping based on the application of gray scale images. In the faculties of fine arts, the techniques studied are applied to the training of sculptors in the production of round shape works, and they can also be applied in the production of sculptural reliefs. It is also essential to generalize the learning of these techniques in teacher training programs. It is concluded that the development of reliefs through the use of displacement mapping is an alternative for artists, being a tool for artistic creation selected by artists who will decide whether its use is appropriate or not.
