摘要
The goal of the Journal of Physical and Developmental Disabilities' 2013 special issue is to highlight recent works in the assessment and treatment of challenging behavior in the area of developmental and physical disabilities. The special issue is comprised of literature reviews on as well as evaluations of novel approaches to the treatment of challenging behavior that utilize antecedent and consequence-based methods. Extensions of antecedent-based approaches are included in the areas of response blocking and fading; noncontingent reinforcement (NCR); and the incorporation of choice. Extensions of consequence-based approaches are included in the areas of functional communication training (FCT); and differential reinforcement (DRO) and self-monitoring.
