摘要
The study of traffic problems in areas, such as the train stations' periphery and important commercial operating areas in the center of Tokyo, cannot be carried out if local traffic interventions are not considered. In this sense, micro-simulation models have demonstrated high effectiveness. This study focuses on an area with around ten intersections in the surrounding area of the Hadano train station, Kanagawa prefecture, and carries out comparison of the traffic behavior effects if complex traffic measures are applied. Such measures are traffic control adjustment, adding left and right pocket lanes, and one-way traffic. The micro-simulation model has showed that, adding pocket lanes to the main intersection and applying one-way traffic in front of Hadano train station would reach the most effective combination in order to reduce high mean delay time of each vehicle, traffic jam, and the amount of NOx emission among other environmental aspects.
