摘要
An automotive driving simulation system based on virtual reality (VR) technique is studied in this paper. 3D view environment of virtual driving simulation which include training ground, examine ground, and actual road in urban and suburban, is constructed by using 3D modeling technique. The simulator's operating mechanism is constituted of steering wheel, shift control lever, accelerator pedal, brake pedal and clutch pedal. In-order to calculate the vehicle body's real- time states, terrain collision detection algorithm is discussed in the paper based on coordinate transformation between world coordinate system and local (vehicle body) coordinate system. Moreover, steering control strategy and shifting logical decision are studied, by which the simulator can compute travel direction and velocity exactly. Based on the above models and algorithms, an automotive driving simulation system has been developed. The driving simulator can accurately simulate vehicle states of various driving conditions such as starting, accelerating, turning, braking and ramp driving, and it can also provide driver with a realistic virtual environment.
