摘要
Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation exercises on stress level of Diabetes Mellitus Type II patient. Method: A quasi-experimental pre post-test with control group design was used in this study. The number of samples amounted to 21 respondents in the treatment group and 21 respondents in the control. The sampling technique simple random sampling. The instrument in this study was a Cohen perceived stress questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by bivariate analysis used t-test independent. Results: The results show that there is no effect of progressive muscle relaxation exercises on the stress value of respondents (p value 0.363). However, PMR exercises have a positive impact on DM Type II patients as complementary nursing therapy in reducing stress. Conclusion: It is advisable for patients to do PMR exercises independently after getting nurse assistance during treatment. (C) 2020 Elsevier Espana, S.L.U. All rights reserved.
