Development of an instrument for measuring the life quality of cancer patients

An instrument that measures cancer patient's quality of life must be valid, reliable and practical. in this study we developed an instrument that asesses:quality of life in cancer patients. We present the results obtained in its first development stages. Study was divided into 2 parts. 1) creation of items that were: Quality or Life Criterion (QLC) and Non-structured interview (NSI), along with Spitzer's Quality of Life index and Karnofsky Index. QLC showed internal consistency of 93; 2) To apply the items to patients, where quality analysis let us know with more detail about our patients experience. Vile present content validity and internal consistency of our instrument; construction validity and reliance are under evaluation.
