Trends in the packing and palletizing of cement

The demands imposed on packing plants for cement usually differ greatly in the so-called emerging markets from those of the so-called "mature" western markets. Bagged cement, for example, is a mass product on emerging markets but has become a quality product on western markets. Advancements take place practically exclusively on the western markets, where quality plays an increasing role. However, the speed at which future-oriented developments spread is interesting. The intention of the following overview is to present and discuss such trends and tendencies. This will not only cover productivity-boosting measures and changes in plant concept in the up-and-coming markets but also innovations and new developments on the established markets. It is certainly also of interest to analyse the possibilities for refinement of proven technology and the requirements that will probably be imposed by future customers. The current trends in these areas will also be presented.
