摘要：
Steel wire rope is extensively used in engineering as a kind of flexible component, it is very important to guarantee the security and reliability of steel wire rope. In this paper, the texture characteristics of steel wire rope, such as smoothness and entropy were extracted based on digital image processing, the external defects in it were detected. This technique offers the technical support of the safety and reliability of steel wire rope.
