摘要
Using molecular dynamics simulations we investigate the role of Zr on the icosahedral forming and slow dynamic in Cu-Zr metallic glasses during the rapid solidification. Our analysis shows that Zr is a strong icosahedral forming element. It can not only improve the formation of Zr-centered icosahedra but also stabilize the Cu-centered icosahedra. The atomic diffusivity of Zr is found to be intrinsically slower than that of Cu atoms. Pinning effect of Zr atoms in slowing down the dynamics is Observed for the first time. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
