Numerical Simulation on Denotation-Driven Asymmetric Structure Fragments

摘要
In order to improve the flight stability of fragments, a new asymmetric fragment structure is proposed. This fragment is designed as a flaky, asymmetric structure that obtains considerable drive velocity under denotation loading when driven asymmetrically by denotation. Besides, some angular velocity is supplied to keep the fragment in stable posture during the flight. Numerical simulation of Phi 203mm-caliber charge example indicates visible rotation of the asymmetric fragment when driven by denotation. Asymmetric fragment structure and denotation-driven controlled rotation technique help the fragment achieve the optimal target-impacting posture and enable it to penetrate the target with greater specific kinetic energy. And this technique offers a new technical approach for increasing the penetration power of fragments.
