摘要
The Australian and Oriental termitophiles belonging to the subtribe Perinthina (Tribe Termitonannini) are all redescribed and the generic concepts are redefined. The previously known genera that are revised are Lauella, Paralavella, and Eutermitophila, A new genus, Alzada is described from the Fiji Islands; type species, A. pulcherrima new species, from Taveuini Island. While no new species of Lauella are described, 5 species formerly in Lauella are transferred to Eutermitophila. These are E, aenigma, E. alomai E. javana, E. lengkongensis, and E. palauensis. Four new species of Eutermitophila are described: E. borealis, from Australia, Northern Territory and North Queensland, with Nasutitermes longipennis; E. oshimaiensis from Indonesia, Sulawesi with N. oshimai; E, philippinensis from the Philippines, Luzon with N. balintauacensis; and E. torresiensis from Australia, North Queensland, with N. torresi. The phylogeny of the group of genera is briefly discussed. Some behavioral notes are presented especially for Eutermitophila lengkongensis, Lauella vitiensis and Alzada pulcherrima which show that while Eutermitophila are adapted to the nest and to a limited degree to the social system of the termites, Alzada and Lauella are more fully integrated into the social life of the termites.
