摘要
The complexing ability of alpha-(2-thienyl)-N-(2-hydroxyphenyl)nitrone (LH) has been investigated. Copper complexes of the tyte CuLL1 have been prepared, where LtH = salicylaidehyde/salicylaldoxime/salicylaldehyde semicarbazone/salicylaldehyde phenylhydrazone/salicylaidehyde thiosemicarbazone/8-hydroxyquinoline/2-hydroxypridine. The complexes possess two coordinated water molecules and have a distorted octahedral structure. The involvement of nitrone nitrogen in bond formation apart from phenolic oxygen has been suggested. The antibacterial activities of these nitrones have also been studied.
