QUALITY ASSURANCE AND STUDENT SATISFACTION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The importance of student satisfaction within higher education institutions is gradually Increasing, against a background of continual dynamics as it regards the demand and offer of educational services. Consequently, there is the need for the universities to focus upon strategies which to increase student satisfaction according to the institutional goals. The present study shows the results of the student satisfaction survey conducted at Babes-Bolyai University on 836 students. The assessment instrument evaluates both students' satisfaction with teaching and learning, base material, facilities and services, and the importance they render to each of the dimensions evaluated. Those dimensions perceived as being both satisfactory and important, are relevant especially for monitoring actions and quality Improvement.
