Educational Programmes in Archives and Records Management in the UK and Ireland: An Overview, 1995-2007

摘要：

This article examines changes and developments in archives and records management educational programmes between 1995 and 2007. The Accreditation Team of the Society of Archivists visits every programme in the UK and Ireland on a quinquennial basis, and assesses them against a set of agreed criteria which are, in effect, the competency standards for the profession. The article outlines the accreditation process, illustrates the changes that have been made over the 12-year period and discusses the issues and problems facing the profession and the educators.
