摘要
In recent years, high temperature superconducting (HTS) cables have been extensively studied. Tri-axial cables have advantages of compact structure, high current carrying density and low loss, which can save energy in power transmission and become an important research direction. As the three phases of to-axial cable are in one cryostat, it subjects to a more complex electromagnetic environment. When transmitting alternating current (AC) or/and exposing to alternating magnetic field, tri-axial cable's AC loss becomes a critical aspect on its stable transmission performance. In this paper, a tri-axial type HTS cable with YBCO superconductor tapes modeled and analyzed by finite element method. To simulate the highly nonlinear superconductor tape numerically, H-formulation is adopted. Time-varying AC loss of tri-axial HTS cable is obtained. By comparing AC loss of each phase, the influence of the external magnetic field on AC loss is given.
