摘要
Day by day there is increase in use of renewable sources like solar, wind for generating power because of decrease in availability of non renewable resources of energy like coal, natural gas, oil and tremendous developments in energy storage devices. Microgrids incorporate large amount of non conventional and conventional distributed generation (DG) that are connected to the system either directly or through power electronics (PE) interface. To utilize maximum amount of renewable energy, energy management controller has been developed by researcher earlier but later it is found that they are inefficient. As they controls the supply side and demand side depending on total power generated and consumed without assigning any priority to supply the load. Battery will continuously supply all type of load without considering its state of charge and power generated. An energy management system (EMS) is a system used by operators of electric utility grids to monitor, control, and optimize the performance of the transmission and generation system. The EMS leads to savings in the overall operating cost. Due to use of power electronics devices issues related to power quality becomes severe. Power quality of microgrid is maintain by using compensating devices like unified Power Quality Controller (UPQC). In this paper energy management of DC microgrid is done along with maintaining its power quality by using UPQC. The system model is developed in matlab containing dc Microgrid with EMS and power quality controller UPQC.
