摘要
Information systems are transforming health care delivery. A conceptual framework is proposed for identifying issues relating to use of information systems and evaluation of outcomes that can be applied universally. Technology use with children and families with chronic illness can be affected by barriers such as poor education or marketing of technology, health care providers' time constraints, perceived benefits of using technology, and the experiences providers and patients have with technology. Measurable outcomes include patient and provider satisfaction, preferred types of technology, cost-benefit ratio, educational and support benefits to patients, and perceptions of technology.
