Improvement in mechanical properties of semi-solid AA7075 aluminum alloys by Equal-Channel Angular Pressing

摘要
To improve the formability of high strength aluminum alloys (extra super duralumin 7075), the authors focused on two methods, semi-solid casting and Equal-Channel Angular Pressing processing. This research reports observations of effect of subsequent aging treatment to Equal-Channel Angular Pressed semi-solid cast AA7075. As a result, tensile strength and total elongation of semi-solid AA7075 was improved with increasing number of pressed processing pass and subsequent T6 heat treatment contributed to further improvement. T6 heat treated 4pass pressed modified AA7075 had lower tensile strength, higher total elongation, and higher toughness than wrought AA7075-T6. (C) 2017 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
