摘要
This paper aims to analyze the productivity development trend of Mainland Chinese logistics companies from 2001 to 2006 by using DEA models, including CCR, BCC and Malmquist productivity change index. 18 listed Chinese mainland logistics companies, including 9 integrated transport companies and 9 port operational enterprises, are studied in this paper. Properties and equipments value, salaries and wages of employees and operational costs other than salaries and wages are used as input, whereas profit before tax is used as output. The results indicate that most of the integrated transport companies have slacks in operational cost. For port operational enterprises, there are slacks in salaries and wages as well as properties and equipment value. The Hong Kong based shipping company OOCL and Port Authority of New York & New Jersey are used as benchmarks for comparing the performance of the 18 Chinese companies.
