摘要：
The text discusses the concept of the soul in Czech folk texts which were collected and published in books by K. J. Erben and J. Jenik z Bratric (19th century) and sung by Czech singers J. Hutka and P. Zalman Lohonka. The concept of the soul - based on the connection of body and soul understood as one whole or as a combination of dependent but isolated parts - proves complex, bringing together Christian and pre-Christian elements (the latter include zoomorphological images of the soul and the theme of the dead returning to this world); it also demonstrates a decisively non-atheist character of Czech rural population.
