摘要
The rhizome essential oil ofCurcuma sahuynhensisfrom Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam, was obtained by hydrodistillation and analyzed by gas chromatographic techniques. The major components in the essential oil were beta-pinene (52.7 %), beta-caryophyllene (11.1 %), alpha-pinene (8.6 %), caryophyllene oxide (6.5 %), and (Z)-beta-farnesene (5.9 %). The rhizome essential oil was screened for antimicrobial activity and showed good activity against the Gram-positive bacteriaEnterococcus faecalis,Staphylococcus aureus, andBacillus cereus, and the pathogenic yeastCandida albicanswith minimum inhibitory concentrations of 64 mu g/mL against each of the microorganisms. This study represents the first phytochemical analysis and bioactivity screening ofC. sahuynhensis.
