Meeting families information needs requires closer engagement with families, and gaining insight and appreciation of what it is exactly families want to know in order to usefully inform their decision-making about caring for their children.We recommend that health professionals and researchers work in partnership with families to address their information needs. Professionals and researchers need to take time to understand the decisions families are making about their children's health care. Then consider what information would help inform those decisions, and how this can be presented in an accessible way. © 2013 Informa Healthcare USA, Inc.
