摘要
The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the local culture-based physics model of teaching in developing students' creative thinking skills and understanding of the NOS. The study was conducted through a quasi-experimental posttest design. The subjects are 72 students in classes X MIPA. 1 and X MIPA. 2 SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja, Bali. The data regarding the students' creative thinking skills was measured by Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT). In addition, the students' understanding of the NOS was evaluated by questionnaire. The data regarding the creative thinking and understanding of the NOS were analyzed using statistical and descriptive methods, and Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) to verify the hypothesis. Statistical analysis shows the significant difference in the students' creative thinking and understanding of the NOS between the group of students who learned through the Local Culture-based Model of Teaching (LCBMT) and those who learned through the Conventional Method of Teaching (CMT). It can be concluded that the culture-based physics model of teaching is more effective than the conventional (regular) model of teaching in developing creative thinking skills and the understanding of the NOS in students.
