摘要
Scrophularia striata is an Iranian medicinal plant and has been used in traditional medicine for the treatment of burns and wounds. This study was performed to investigate the effects of S. striata hydroalcoholic extract (SSE) on viability, proliferation and migration of human dermal fibroblast (HDF) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Furthermore the effect of SSE on angiogenesis was evaluated by using in vitro tube formation assay. The results showed that SSE had significant proliferative and migratory effects on fibroblast and endothelial cells. In addition, the formation of tube-like structures by HUVECs cultured in Matrigel was significantly increased in cells treated with SSE compared to control group. These findings suggest that S. triata promote wound healing by enhancement of fibroblast and endothelial cells proliferation and migration and has potential for the treatment of wounds.
