Romania - An Emerging market regarding recycling waste

Recycling exists from ancient times, first mentions dating back to Plato in 400 BC. During periods when resources were scarce, archaeological studies have shown that household waste were far less numerous, which implies that certain wastes were recycled in the absence of new material. The two world wars encouraged recycling. In World War II there were strong promotion campaigns waged by governments of countries involved in the war for urging citizens to donate metals. Resource conservation programs continued aft er the war in some countries with abundant natural resources, such as Japan. Nowadays many countries have already addressed the recovery and recycling of reusable resources and passed to coordination unit of the activity. In the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, recycling is mandatory since the 80s.
