摘要
Along with other OECD countries, Norway has experienced a strong growth in trade with East and Southeast Asia (ESEA) during the last two decades. A special feature is that while Norway's exports to ESEA has increased in line with the growth in these markets, exports to Norway constitutes a falling share of ESEA's exports to other countries - especially due to Japan's loss of shares in the Norwegian market. For this reason, Norway's exports to ESEA has increased more than its imports from the area. The composition of Norwegian imports from ESEA has changed considerably due to the rapid industrialisation in these countries, and China's market opening has lead to a dramatic shift in the trading pattern. The analysis also shows that economic growth has lead to closer regional integration within ESEA.
