摘要
The paper explores the potential for improvements in second-moment closure modeling via term-by-term analysis of direct numerical simulation data in plane-channel flow. Terms in the exact Reynolds stress transport equations that represent pressure diffusion, redistribution, and dissipation anisotropy were examined separately, using extended tensorial representations containing new inhomogeneouas terms and assessed both a priori and a posteriori, highlighting the importance of the interaction between parts of the models. The derived representations were then further assessed, by comparison with experiments and existing models, for various flows with Mach numbers M is an element of (0, 5]. The flows considered include cases where separation or shockwave/boundary-layer interaction were present. Possible directions for further work for the improvement of near-wall modeling are discussed.
