摘要：

Amyloidosis is a generic label that refers to a group of rare, severe conditions caused by extracellular and tisular deposition of an abnormal protein called amyloid, in tissues and organs. This paper aims to highlight the importance of a high level of suspicion in diagnosing this category of patients that frequently present with non-specific symptoms. Better recognition of amyloidosis allows for earlier treatment and improved outcomes. Amyloidosis should be considered in patients without cause of hepatomegaly, jaundice, macroglossia, proteinuria, cardiac insufficiency, neuropathy, and in atypical cases of multiple myeloma.
