摘要
In order to Improve the navigation safety in coastal waters a three-level control and remote monitoring system of lighthouses, beacons and buoys (Aids to Navigation or shortly AtoN) has been developed and implemented in Estonia, Lithuania and, partly in Latvia. In this paper the general architecture, the hard- and software of different levels of the system will be described. On the lowest level of the system a set of local microprocessor controlled equipment is used in every lighthouse, beacon or buoy to ensure the autonomous functioning of them. Using GSM or public switched telephone network they are connected to the regional control centres for remote monitoring and control. On the highest level of the system the general control and monitoring over a large territory will be performed.
