Choosing the numerical control processing cutting parameters is an important problem to solve in modern technuque of manufacture, for it relates to the system productivity, the cost of production as well as the product quality in processing. A new optimizations of cutting parameters method was put forward. Using three targets control parameters, machining time, machining accuracy and machining cost, multiple targets nonlinear programming model was established. The multiple targets nonlinear constraint program problem was transformed to single target nonlinear no constraint program problem. Based on the model, the optimal cutting parameters are generated with improved particle swarm optimization (PSO). An example shows that the optimal cutting parameters are easier to satisfy the optimizing object than the empirical ones, and PSO is applicable for solving complicated nonlinear problem. It provided a scientific method for the reasonable choice of cutting quantity.
